You have the right to request deletion of your personal data from Bopadi's systems. This page explains what data we hold, how deletion works, and allows you to submit a formal request. Some data may be retained where required by Nigerian law or for legitimate business purposes.

1 What Data We Hold

Depending on your level of engagement with Bopadi, we may hold the following categories of personal data:

  • Identification data: full name, WhatsApp phone number, and email address
  • Transaction records: flight bookings, VTU transactions, payment history, and confirmation details
  • Communication logs: WhatsApp chat history with our bot relevant to service delivery
  • Technical data: IP addresses, device identifiers, and usage logs from our website
  • Waitlist information: name, email, and phone number submitted via our signup form

2 What Happens When You Request Deletion

Upon receiving a valid deletion request, Bopadi will follow the steps below:

We will verify your identity by confirming the phone number or email address associated with your account within 3 business days.

Our team will identify all data associated with your account across our systems and third-party processors.

Deletion or Anonymization

Eligible data will be permanently deleted or anonymized from our active databases and backups within 30 days of verification.

Confirmation

You will receive a written confirmation via email or WhatsApp once the deletion process is complete.

3 Data We May Retain

Certain categories of data may be retained beyond your deletion request where required by applicable law or legitimate business necessity:

  • Financial transaction records required for tax compliance, typically for a minimum of 5 years under Nigerian law
  • Data necessary to resolve ongoing disputes or pending investigations
  • Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you as an individual
  • Records required to prevent fraudulent re-registration or service abuse

Please note: Deleting your data will terminate your access to Bopadi services. Any pending bookings or active transactions should be resolved before submitting a deletion request.
